LIA - Business All-Star Accreditation
LIA have successfully navigated 3 rounds of auditing which proved their performance, trust and customer-centricity.
The auditing process has left us in no doubt as to LIA’s suitability for Business All-Star accreditation and their inclusion in The Register of Irish Business Excellence (TRIBE).
– Kieran Ring, Deputy Chair, Adjudication Board
LIA was originally founded in the UK in 1972 and the first Irish region was established in Cork in 1978. Subsequently, regions were set up in Dublin, Limerick, the Northeast, Northwest, Midlands, Southeast, and West of Ireland.
In May 1993, Life Insurance Association Ireland became an autonomous body with the full support and encouragement of our colleagues in the UK.Over the past 26 years LIA in Ireland has played a key role in improving the standards of professionalism amongst those who give and support financial advice, through our educational offerings (circa 6.5k exam sittings annually).
We have worked closely with our industry partners and with the Central Bank in expanding the services provided. When LIA Ireland was established in 1993 our membership was 630. This has grown significantly, recently surpassing 11,000, and these days comprises members from large Life Assurance Companies, as well as Brokerages and Credit Unions all over the country.
Message from Joanne Keane - CEO Designate, LIA
We are absolutely thrilled to achieve this accreditation, which is testament to the work of our staff and volunteers around the country. Having grown from very humble beginnings 41 years ago as a small ideas-sharing network, LIA is now a thriving community of over 14,000 qualified and student members.
We have achieved this through continuously striving to meet the needs of our members and students, all of whom work in a dynamic and ever-changing financial services industry. Our “Member First” ethos informs our approach to everything we do, and our staff live and breathe this value daily.
This accreditation comes at an exciting time in LIA’s history, following as it does our recent announcement of a new academic partnership with IT Sligo. We are grateful to the All-Ireland Business Foundation for bestowing on us such a huge honour – one that will help fuel our determination to keep growing and improving into the future.
