Leading managed IT and cloud service provider INNOVATE has launched a new talent acquisition offering for companies who are struggling with the mounting IT challenges presented by digitalisation and the impact of Covid-19. INNOVATE Skillsource will provide a range of IT talent recruitment and contracting services for short and long-term projects.

Skillsource will leverage INNOVATE’s extensive IT knowledge and expertise to recruit skilled IT contractors, create and manage teams for IT projects, and offer both on and off-site outsourcing services to clients. INNOVATE IT professionals are involved at all points of the talent search, interview, and hiring process, saving time for clients, and offering support levels beyond standard recruitment and resourcing offerings.

Talent matching is a key aspect of the Skillsource service, according to Jim Hughes, CEO, INNOVATE.“Every company is different, and needs vary depending on circumstances. We use our expertise to assess the skill levels required and ensure we provide the right person for the role and the organisation involved.”

This is particularly valuable for companies with IT departments that are focused on other priorities.“We are IT people sourcing other IT professionals,” Mr. Hughes added.“We take the time to understand what the customer needs and we reach out to our community of IT professionals to find the right fit.”

That community has been built over many years.“We have developed a very powerful nationwide network of highly skilled and qualified IT professionals over the past decade and more. In many cases, these people have worked with us directly on projects and in others, they were members of customer IT teams. In all cases, they are seeking permanent and contractor roles and are available to work for our clients.”

Skillsource will also create IT teams to work on short and long-term IT projects for customers. This will provide a resource for clients who either do not have the scale to justify an internal IT department or require flexibility to deploy additional resources to specific projects from time to time.

“Many of our clients are engaged in digital transformation projects at present,” said Jim Hughes.“They are also contending with the impact of Covid-19 and the pressure it is placing on IT resources and infrastructure due to the switch to home and remote working for many staff. We offer them the facility to scale up resources to deal with this increased workload and scale back later when they are no longer required.”

One person who appreciates the value of having a strong team around you is professional rugby player Tadhg Furlong. The 27-year-old is offering his support to INNOVATE Skillsource. Tadhg is one of the world’s top rugby players having enjoyed phenomenal success at both club and international level, including winning a Six Nations Grand Slam, European Rugby Champions Cup, and the Pro14 as well as playing in all three tests in the most recent British & Irish Lions tour to New Zealand. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Finance from Dublin City University.

The INNOVATE Skillsource team has also been boosted by the appointment of Liam Howlin as Talent Acquisition Manager. Liam holds a BBS(Hons) in Human Resource Management and has a wealth of technical recruitment experience in both agency and in-house teams in organisations such as Hays, Berkley Group, and INNOVATE’s GOLD partner Microsoft.

During his career, Liam has been responsible for sourcing technical talent for a wide variety of indigenous Irish businesses, high tech start-ups, and industry-leading multinationals across EMEA and APAC, as well as delivering highly specialised technology contractors to the public sector.

“We are delighted to welcome Tadhg and Liam on board,” said Jim Hughes. “Tadhg’s career exemplifies the importance of team play to success and this is what Innovate Skillsource is all about. Liam’s vast experience will be invaluable in sourcing the expertise our clients require.”

The Skillsource off-site outsourcing service will be of particular relevance to organisations dealing with Covid-19 is. Skillsource can create a team to deliver a project from remote locations thereby ensuring adherence to social distancing and other guidelines.

The service extends beyond talent acquisition. Successful candidates receive ongoing upskilling and training from INNOVATE Skillsource to ensure their skillsets remain up to date and relevant to client needs.

“Candidates become part of our network of experts and receive continuing support from our staff,” said Hughes.

Clients can also avail of a unique blend of INNOVATE’s traditional IT managed and professional services offering and Skillsource’s talent acquisition and contract service. “This enables clients to avail of support from the INNOVATE Network Operations Centre (NOC) for the IT professionals we recruit on their behalf.”

INNOVATE solves ICT challenges by working closely with customers to design and implement secure and resilient infrastructure solutions to address existing problems, support their business strategy, and unlock the value of IT for their organisation.

These solutions are made affordable for organisations of all sizes through their provision on and as a service basis that packages all the IT infrastructure, cloud, and managed service expenditure into a monthly operating investment.

“We innovate, we listen, we design, we implement solutions,” Jim Hughes concluded.“INNOVATE Skillsource is a direct result of that philosophy – we listened to our customers and we innovated to design and implement a solution to their needs.”
